DE PERE, Wis. — Vice presidential nominee JD Vance visited De Pere on Wednesday night to discuss the economy, inflation, and energy.
Vance talked about how rising fuel costs impact truckers and how these costs eventually affect consumers.
“So Kamala Harris, why don’t you stop harming American energy? Why not stop buying energy from dictators around the world? Let’s invest in American energy and American workers right here at home, and let’s do it now,” Vance said.
He also criticized Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris’s economic actions.
“She stands before crowds and says she’ll tackle the affordability crisis, make groceries cheaper, and help young people afford homes from Day 1. But everyone with common sense is asking, ‘Kamala, Day 1 was 1,300 days ago. What have you been doing?'” Vance stated.
Vance also criticized a decision by the Wisconsin Elections Commission regarding the November ballot. He argued it was a bureaucratic move to keep Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s name on the Wisconsin ballot, even though the independent candidate dropped out last week and endorsed Donald Trump.
“I think it’s ridiculous that RFK endorsed Donald Trump, requested to be removed from the Wisconsin ballot, but bureaucrats are keeping his name on it because they think it will hurt Trump. I believe we’ll win Wisconsin anyway, and we’re going to fight for every vote,” Vance said.
Wisconsin Elections Commission Chair Ann Jacobs stated that they are following existing state law.
Vance previously visited Eau Claire on Aug. 7, Milwaukee on Aug. 16, and Kenosha on Aug. 20.
Former President Donald Trump will be in La Crosse on Thursday night, and Democratic vice presidential nominee Tom Walz will be in Milwaukee on Labor Day.
