Wisconsin in the Spotlight: Biden to Promote Renewable Energy in Small Towns

WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden will visit southwest Wisconsin on September 5 to highlight his policies aimed at reducing costs and promoting renewable energy and advanced manufacturing. This visit will focus on small towns and rural areas.

According to a White House official, Wisconsin is a key state for Democrats in the upcoming presidential election, where Biden won by a narrow margin in 2020. Biden, who has endorsed his vice president Kamala Harris for the election, is increasing his public appearances, with both planning to be in Pittsburgh for Labor Day.

In 2020, nearly half of Wisconsin voters were from small towns and rural areas, with a majority supporting Trump. Biden’s visit will emphasize the benefits of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, which includes measures to lower Medicare costs, promote renewable energy, and ensure wealthy taxpayers pay their share.
